How Scrappy Soil composting works:

Scrappy Soil makes composting easy, without the mess or effort of managing your own compost pile. For just $25/month, we pick up your food scraps right from your home every other week and turn them into local compost instead of landfill waste. And for being a planet-saving superstar, you will receive 25 pounds of locally made compost for free every year, bringing your scraps full circle.

We’re starting small so we can grow smart. For Phase One, home pickup is available within 3 driving miles of downtown Granville. Check your address here.

  1. 1

Sign up for Scrappy Soil Community Composting

We’ll drop off a food-grade 5-gallon bucket with a gasket-sealed lid to keep smells and mess inside, plus a handy lid-opening tool that makes adding scraps easy.

  2. 2

    Fill It Up

Toss your compostable food scraps into your Scrappy Bucket instead of the trash. Keep it somewhere convenient and fill it as you go. Small bucket. Big community impact.

    We Do the Dirty Work

Every other week, our Scrappy Team picks up your bucket right from your doorstep and swaps it for a fresh, clean one. We take care of the dirty work while your scraps get turned into local compost instead of harmful methane gas at the landfill.

Problem

24%

Nearly one-quarter of everything sent to U.S. landfills is food. Instead of nourishing the earth, those food scraps are trapped, producing harmful methane gas instead of healthy soil.

Solution

100%

Everything in your Scrappy Soil bucket has the potential to become compost. Composting turns those scraps into healthy soil instead of earth-harming landfill waste.

Results

500,000lbs

If 1,500 of our neighbors composted their food scraps, every year we would turn 500,000 pounds of food waste into healthy soil.
